Fantastic Helpsheets to Help Parents with Kids Tummy Issues

Here’s a fantastic site that has a lot of material about baby care for parents to download.  The materials cover common issues such as diarrhea, tummy problems, and constipation. Research by SMA Nutrition (the site creators) reveals that tummy troubles, wind, constipation, and diarrhea cause much stress for parents of young children.  Their research also shows that 64% of parents say their baby experiences tummy troubles at least once a month, yet only a quarter (25%) feel they know how to resolve the problem. So, in an easy to understand manner, the material on the SMA site informs parents on how to recognize an issue as well as treatment.

I was very impressed with how the materials also take the age of the child into account when doing assessments and recommending treatment.

You can download the guides, print them and keep them.  The videos are also very good and as a bonus you get to hear them in that cute and always lovable British accent.

This site is in UK and in order to view the videos and other features you need to create an account. However, the registration process requires you to have a UK or an Ireland mailing address.  If you live outside of those two countries, as I do, you are forced to fib. When the site asked me for my address I said ‘1 Cross Street’ for the street and ‘Dublin’ for the city. It does not ask for anything else. Don’t say UK because then it will ask you for a postcode (so they can mail you a free gift).

If you don’t want to go through the signup process then you can just download the sheets and print them.  They are a great free resource.
