What a fantastic way to eat Kiwis. I was at a blogging food camp a few weeks ago and ZESPRI, one of the sponsors, served gold and green kiwis cut like these. So easy, so clean and so perfect for children. Since the camp I send “kiwi cups” with my daughter in her school lunch. All she has to do is use her spoon and scoop it out, teaching her a new way to use her spoon with fruits.
I also happened to try Gold Kiwi at the food blogging camp. Gold Kiwis are sweet, unlike their green counterparts that are tarty. If you see them in the market, pick them up, your children will enjoy the gold kiwis. Kiwis are great for you and the kids.
- Kiwis are low in fat and calories. One kiwi is about 60 calories.
- Kiwis have a low glycemic index. Making it a perfect fruit for those with diabetes or have gestational diabetes.
- Kiwis are low on the pesticide index so you don’t have to buy them organic and they are very reasonably priced when compared to the other fruits.
- Kiwis are also very high on folic acid (must for pregnancy to prevent neural defects), vitamin C, vitamin E, and potassium.
All these fantastic reasons..what’s not to love about kiwis? Give some to your children and watch them devour it.
