Lead Found in Children’s Juice Boxes, Fruit Products

A California environmental group has found lead in popular children’s juice, packaged fruit, and baby foods. The Oakland-based Environmental Law Foundation tested a wide range of brands, and found that a single serving of many of the products would put children aged six and younger over the state and federal daily limit for lead.

Why does lead matter for children and babies?

Lead exposure in children causes reduced IQ, and attention span, hyperactivity, impaired growth, reading and learning disabilities, and a range of other health, intellectual, and behavioral problems.

Furthermore lead positioning causes irreversible health effects and there is no cure for lead poisoning.

The list below lists the products that were tested and whether they tested positive for excess lead:

Comments

  1. Hillary says:

Why is anyone putting any lead in our children’s food? What reason could there possibly be for putting a POISONOUS SUBSTANCE no matter how little into our food????

  2. Rashmi says:

Lead gets into the food product several ways: from the soil where the fruits and veggies are grown, the pesticide usage of the farmer or the neighboring farms (contamination), and from the packaging that is used for the products.

  3. Sabrina Ellison says:

I am completely astounded that these name brand companies could let this happen!! As a mother who prides herself with choosing the best foods for her two and half year old daughter, I can’t believe these famous organic companies have let me down!!!

I am participating in a class action lawsuit, and you can too! If you are just as upset as I am…then contact Howard Rubinstein (howardr@pdq.net)…or call him 832-715-2788.

We can’t let these companies get by with poisoning our children on our own dime!
