Hello My Zoku Maker! I have missed you! It only made sense to put you away while the temperatures were freezing… but now we are back as Spring is around the corner! I have a long list of Zoku Recipes we are going to be posting on YumKid over the next few months.
The first recipe was inspired by Tiramisu. I read a friend’s blog post on her Tiramisu recipe earlier and all I could think of for the rest of the day was Tiramisu. You see Tiramisu is one of my all time favorite dessert. When my hubby and I went to Italy pre kids we ate our way through the country by eating Tiramisu with every meal. Here’s my take on a nutty Tiramisu. Although I did not add any coffee/rum/chocolate to this recipe, it tasted divine and satisfied my Tiramisu craving. It was the Magic of Lady’s Fingers! I apologize for the picture in advance. We had so much fun eating it that we didn’t realize we forgot to take the picture of the finished Zoku till after we finished it. I promise I will post the actual Zoku image soon.!
Recipe (makes 2 Zokus)
4 oz whole milk
3 lady’s fingers (you can get them at any grocery store and I used the ones from Trader Joe’s)
6 pistachio, 1 tsp walnuts.
Soak the lady’s fingers in the whole milk till they dissolve.
Coarsely grind the pistachio and walnuts using a mortar and pestle and add to the milk mixture. See the picture below for the zoku mixture.
Pour in Zoku Maker and wait till frozen.
