Here’s the latest afternoon snack that my kids put together. Yes they set up a Quinoa fruit salad bar. There’s always some cut fruit in the refrigerator and I tend to keep the fruits and other kid snacks on the bottom shelf in the refrigerator so the kids can access the goodies whenever they want.
This afternoon activity choreographed by my almost 5 year old with baby brother following along, involves both of them going to the refrigerator where they take the fruits out. They next dig around for some cooked Quinoa (I always tend to have some cooked quinoa in the refrigerator). They add the quinoa to a bowl, add the cut fruits, toss some fruits and sprinkle some vanilla powder and they have just made themselves a delicious, healthy afternoon treat.
This recipe sure makes this mama proud!
- 1 mango cut into small pieces
- 1 peach cut into small pieces
- cup of blueberries
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- Toss everything together and you have a yummy afternoon treat.
