Recipe: Chocolate Chocolate Zoku Pop Maker Recipe

zoku makes instant frozen popsI finally got my Zoku today after calling around. I was told by the woman in Williams Sonoma that these machines are selling like hot potatoes.  I am really excited about it.  It is in the freezer and tomorrow I am going to try my first Zoku Pop Maker recipe. It is a very simple machine to use, just take it out of the box and put it in the freezer to freeze for 24 hours.

I went to zoku’s site, which is under construction and found a PDF with 4 Zoku recipes. Of the four recipes, I like the Chocolate Chocolate (I love love love chocolate) the best.

Here’s the simple recipe from the PDF consisting of whole milk and chocolate syrup:

Chocolate Chocolate (makes 6)

Ingredients: 12 oz. of whole milk, 4-5 tbsp chocolate syrup, semi sweet chocolate chips.

1)      Pour 6 oz. of cold milk into a measuring cup. Add 4-5 tbsp of chocolate syrup and stir until the mixture is uniform.

2)      Insert sticks into the molds, and drop between 6-12 chocolate chips into each mold. Pour the chocolate milk mixture up to the fill line.

My version of this recipe will probably include chocolate powder and agave nectar (for the sweetner) instead of the ultra sugary syrup but tomorrow I am to make Strawberry pop with pistachios.  If you have a fun Zoku recipe please share.

I just received all the Zoku products for my birthday. After trying some of the recipes in the book that came with the Zoku…I decided to try a version of strawberry daiquiri. We live in the southeast and have had record breaking temps this summer. It is just my husband and I eating these… is my receipe:

    Juice of one lemon
    1/4 cup sugar
    2-3 tablespoons of rum
Chopped strawberries (note I use my bullet blender to blend integrediates so I start with the lemon juice add sugar and rum…stir until mixed well then add chopped strawberries to the fill line of the large blender cup. Use the bullet to blend well. Makes about 5 pops (you can drink the extra juice :-) )

I also tried this with fresh Blueberries…..both are yummy and very refreshing on a hot summer’s day!!!!
