I love papayas, I remember eating them a lot when I was a kid. They are available here but they are not a very popular fruit. They are sure expensive, but they are truly worth it.
I ate peanut butter growing up as a kid, and I loved it. Creamy, chunky, smooth, whatever, there are so many kinds. I prefer to buy mine at Whole Foods. They have a peanut butter grounding machine. I feed the peanuts from the top, and the butter is ground right out the bottom and they are unsweetened.
So I mixed up the two things I love and made a Zoku pop out of it.
Papaya and Peanut Butter Zoku
(makes 1 pop)
1 oz chunk of papaya
1 oz whole milk (or skim, 2%, whatever you prefer)
1 tbsp peanut butter
I did not add any sugar to this. Zoku doesn’t recommend unsweetened drinks, but I gave it a shot anyway.
It turned out great. It wasn’t very sweet, but the papaya is pretty sweet, and it moderated the peanut taste a bit. If your papaya is not very sweet, you should probably add a bit of sugar.
