Should you buy only Organic Fruits and Vegetables?

Ever wonder what produce to buy organic and where to save some money? You don’t need to buy everything organic as there are many conventionally grown fruits and vegetables that have very low levels of pesticide.   Early exposure to small amounts of pesticide either when you are pregnant or in childhood can have long term impact on health, so it’s best that we minimize our exposure to these pesticides.

So based on the research done you don’t need to buy organic Tomato, Onion, Papaya, Peas as they have the lowest pesticides even if they are grown conventionally.  However you do need to buy Peaches, Strawberries, Grape, Apple, and Lettuce organic as they have the highest pesticide index.

Peaches have a score of 100 out of a possible 100 in terms of the pesticide load.  Apples are next with a score of 89.  shoppers_guide_to_pesticideThe image on the left has more details on the best and worst food when it comes to pesticides, so save some money while still eating healthy!
