My first sip, at a Christmas dinner I was invited to my first year in this country, and I was hooked. Ever since, during the holidays and the cold wintry months I make Spiced Apple Cider at home. Sometimes there’s more cinnamon in it, other times there’s more zest in but what doesn’t change is how wonderful and inviting my home smells when I make spiced apple cider. Hours after making it I can smell the aroma of the spiced apple cider when I walk into my home.
I like how Spiced Apple Cider is something that the whole family and sit together and sip.
Ingredients (makes about 3 cups)
4 Cups Apple Juice
5 small cinnamon sticks
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Place all the ingredients in a pot and simmer for 20-25 minutes on low heat. Serve!
p.s. apologize for the awful picture of the cider, it doesn’t do the taste any justice. I am now realizing how hard it is to photograph beverages.
