Yogurt Parfait Recipe created by a preschooler

This breakfast recipe was put together by my 3.5 year old. I love the fact she is interested in helping me in the kitchen. I think her interest peaked when I started getting her involved when she was 18 months old. Her first recipe was peanut butter lovie kisses. We made a video of it and I still need to post it. I love this parfait. It was so easy for her to put this together and of course using the right glass (basically any clear glass bowl or glass) made the outcome so beautiful. This breakfast dish took all of 2 minutes to put together, so this makes a great healthy nutritious breakfast.

Here’s what she did:

1)      She put the fruits in as the first layer. She used blueberries and grapes.

2)      Next she added plain yogurt. We used homemade yogurt for it but you can use any yogurt.

3)      Topped it up with Granola. We used the Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Granola for this.

Kids love crunchy stuff so adding the granola at the top made it so much fun for her to eat her own breakfast. This “loaded fruit and nut” granola is delicious. You will have a hard time from finishing the packet in one go.

I LOVED this breakfast! Isn’t everything made by your child the most amazing thing in the world?

Try it with your kids! Let your kids put this dish together for a weekend breakfast. Give them a variety of fruits and a variety of granola and/or your favorite cereal and let them create parfaits for you and the family.
